So, you've decided to go abroad and spend a few weeks teaching English in a social project. You've sorted out your passport, visa, vaccinations and it's all you can talk about. One thing's certain: it'll be an enriching experience that you're sure to never forget. Teaching English abroad is a great way to meet new people, share cultural experiences and gain a new set of skills. However, sometimes standing in front of a large group of children, young people or adults who don't speak your language can be a daunting prospect. Using my own experiences as a volunteer in various countries in South America as well as a social projects and volunteer scheme coordinator in Brazil, this part of the site aims to provide helpful tips and support for volunteer teachers.
